I named this piece “I’m A Survivor” because it came oh so close to being painted over. I created the original piece when I was experimenting with some new tools and paint. Although it was nice, I also felt like it was plain and asking for something more. One day in the studio, I was on a roll and decided to see if I could take it up a notch. I put the canvas on the easel, paint on the palette and starting laying down paint intuitively. After awhile, I took a look and was very happy with what I saw and how I felt. It was then I knew that this canvas was in fact a “Survivor”.
